Delicious Macross cake is not a lie photo

Yes. This cake is not a lie. It is very, very, real.

Recently, a member of Sega got married and had a truly awesome wedding cake based on Robotech's SDF-1. It's enormous, and absolutely awesome looking. The cake also features the characters Max and Miriya in wedding outfits in the cockpit of the blue jet-looking object.

Apparently the two newlyweds, Jerry (of Sega) and Kat also had a "Voltron Lion Dance" at the reception, which sounds like my kind of nerd wedding.

Of course, I'd like to think if I ever got married that I'd probably geek it out Star Wars style, and get to bring my lightsaber along. If you could have your ultimate nerd wedding (or just attend a nerd wedding) what theme would you want it to have?

Hit the jump to see a couple more pictures of this awesome cake!

My husband, alas, would not have been up to a truly nerd wedding (it's enough that he would marry nerdy me & face the potential-& now a reality- of raising a nerdling, too :). However, we did have our favourite teddy bear in attendance at our wedding. Soon-to-be husband put one of his own bow-ties on teddy, & a good friend set the bear up on the cake table with a glass of champange. Ah, memories...

Of course, if they got the band to play this at the end of the reception, I'd be ecstatic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW13b2xGsQc
Hm, much as a themed wedding sounds like fun, our families would hate it. It just wouldn't be right without some anime music, however. And there will be a one-shot RPG campaign of some sort for my bachelor party.
