Atsushi Itoh, the star of the hit J-drama Densha Otoko, tied the knot last weekend in a move that likely had net-savvy Japanese housewives in tears. Sure, he may have just played an eccentric otaku on television, but I'm sure the man had no shortage of female 2ch users who would have loved to marry him regardless.

Another interesting tidbit was that he married outside of the entertainment industry. While it happens from time to time, I rarely read about Japanese celebrities who venture further than talent agencies and record labels to find love -- after all, its so much easier to have your agent call their agent, and set things up for you. Fans of Itoh should look for him in this summers upcoming blockbuster, Bayside Shakedown 3.
