Gunflame! No wait--

Well, right on the heels of Guilty Gear's glorious return, Arc System Works wants to let fans of its younger child, BlazBlue, aren't about to be left in the cold.

But rather than a new BlazBlue game, Ranga-rockers and their kin can look forward to a brand new anime project, BlazBlue Alter Memory, a TV series set to air this summer season, animated by teamKG and Hoods Entertainment (makers of Qwaser of the Stigmata), and under the direction of Gundam 00's Seiji Mizushima, with screenplays by Deko Akao and Tatsuya Takahashi (who've written for such works as Mysterious Girlfirend X and Arakawa Under the Bridge. Character designs will be provided by Bakuman's Tomoyuki Shitaya.

The announcement also came with some key art (visible in the gallery), and a voice cast list, which you can read below. Some pretty notable names are on there.

While I have frankly zero familiarity with BlazBlue, it's nice to see it get some love even after Arc has gone back to the Guilty Gear well. Are you excited?

  • Tetsuya Kakihara (Fairy Tail's Natsu) as Jin Kisaragi

  • Chiwa Saito (Maoyu's Head Maid) as Taokaka
