I honestly cannot wait for 2009 to end. It's not that it's been a bad year or anything, but I just 2010 to come soon enough for the new Gundam productions. I've had a good year so far, but I want the Gundam 00 movie and the Gundam Unicorn OVA to be out already. For now, I'll just have to be satisfied with the trailers released this week.

We've heard about Gundam 00's movie for a while, even had a couple images leak for the new mobile suits. Thanks to the new trailer contained on the first Gundam 00 SE, these are now no longer rumors. The main cast returns with all new Gundams. Setsuna will pilot the Gundam 00 Qan[T], Lockon has the Zabanya, Gundam Harute will await Allelujah Haptism until he finishes mountain climbing, and Tieria Erde returns once more with the Gundam Raphael. Overall, I'm liking the designs, but I can't help to think that Raphael is packing a bit too much in the back region.

While 00 is looking to be rather promising, I'm even more stoked after seeing the trailer for Gundam Unicorn. The series will be the first new Universal Century setting since 1992's Victory Gundam (not counting 1999's G-Saviour). Even though it's a new setting, a lot feels the same, especially with the updated mobile suits, Zeon coming back for the third time, and a Char, not Char. What I do appreciate a lot with Unicorn is its character design. They are in that familiar UC design, but still feel brand-new, not just swapped hair colors and palettes like some recent series.

I'm hoping that both productions will live up to the expectations that a lot of fans have poured into these two projects. Check out both trailers after the jump as well as some shots of the new Gundam 00 units in the gallery.
