Finally we have some video that shows us what the gameplay in Dragon Ball Online looks like, and surprise, surprise it is exactly how we pictured it. Point, click, die, repeat; nothing to see here folks. But is there anything wrong with that, this is what MMORPGers love, and we shouldn’t change what is not broken. We can see people attacking using ki and melee, and hopefully a character can do both and not just one or another, a ranger class is not necessary in Dragon Ball Online. But other than that it looks a little bit more twitchy than its MMORPG brethren.
It also shows a Future Trunks showcasing a game element called a “timemachine quest”. It appears that your character can go back in time and participate in your favorite moments in Dragon Ball history. I like this idea, instead of having a game take place within the anime’s timeline, it happens in the future and you can travel back and access it that way; no mess, no ‘plot holes’. Is this what you expected?
I couldn't put my finger on why it seemed off and then it hit me! Not enough flying! Everything was too horizontal, other than that doesn't look half bad.
The whole idea of a DB mmo just gets me in Dragonball mode lol. Being a huge fan of the series I can honestly say that i would pay 20-30/month to play this. If not for the awesome story line and plot, for the ability to change the terrain of the planet by blasting giant holes in the ground with raw energy or being able to explore the planet that the original characters lived in and fly around the world like they did. what dragonball fan doesn't want to do that? now, if you cant do those things...thats a different story ^^
I guess I'd be satisfied with just flying and being super strong. But it wouldn't be as satisfying.
