Eighteen years after the original manga ended its serialization, Dragon Ball Z is still one of the most popular media franchises in all of Japan. It's not rare to see dozens of kids at school carrying some form of Dragon Ball Z paraphernalia with them; a lunch box, pencil case or even a t-shirt.
To say that there are a lot of folks excited for the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, would be a gross understatement. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that the new movie will smash some kind of box office record here in Japan.
As Battle of Gods looms closer and closer to its release date, we're starting to see TV commercials hitting the airwaves. This latest one doesn't have much in the way of new footage, but it does a reasonably decent job of hyping up Goku's climactic battle with a skinny rabbit dude.
I can't be the only one looking forward to checking this out. Who else is ready to take a walk down nostalgia lane with me?
