This week's issue of Dengeki Playstation provides details on the gameplay flow for Capcom's upcoming PS3/3DS title E.X. Troopers.
There are multiple mission types available in the game from different sources. The story missions are exactly what you would expect, but you can also take on hidden and not-so-hidden missions from various NPC's throughout the school campus. The typical game flow involves you first acquiring a mission, then going to the cafeteria to eat some food that can give you various status buffs. You then typically select the equipment you want to use, then dive into the mission proper. Upon completing the quest, you receive EXP and materials that you can use to create new weapons. If you find that you don't have enough materials to complete a weapon, VR missions are available in which you can essentially farm for items. Additionally, depending on when you talk to them some NPC's will unlock new events and missions.
E.X. Troopers is looking to be a fairly loaded little game. I'll be getting some hands on time with it come later this week, so stay tuned for first impressions.
