Yet another 4-koma strip manga is getting an anime adaptation, and this time it's going feudal! So get ready to put ya guns on for With My Lord, as the title translates, which tackles the Warring States period from a comedy perspective. Of course, as with any anime adaptation announcement, we know next-to-nothing about it until the next issue of Comic Flapper, which hits stands December 5th. I'm wondering if this is going to be a Hetalia-esque show, or if they'll flush it out more in the direction of K-ON!, Lucky Star or Azumanga Daioh. Well, until then, we get an airing date for this, we've got to hold on and wait for FUNi to get Sengoku Basara out to us for our fix of samurai-bustin' action.

While we're waiting for Nico Nico USA to cover more than just the Space Shuttle launch, the Japanese Nico Nico continues to get awesome stuff in the way of official channels -- the latest and greatest is from Madhouse. If you've got a NicoNico account, you can check out some of their listings, which include the likes of a trailer for the Trigun: Badlands Rumble film. It looks pretty boss, I must admit. Of course, if you don't have an account set up for Nico Nico video (we'll walk you through how to do it one day), then you'll just have to sit tight and start adding your own line of "wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" on YouTube annotations for the videos you're watching. We here at Japanator can't leave you hanging, though. We've got some stuff waiting for you after the jump. [Via AnimeAnime]

Sure, it may cost you your pride, but if you're looking to keep warm and generate a hell of a lot of fuzz, then you may as well go ahead and show your Naruto pride with this snuggie, which we see some of the Viz employees showing off theirs. According to Lex at Viz, these will be hitting stores come wintertime. I am going to wear this thing with a vengeance. What other way can I share my love of all things Sasuke with those who come over and find themselves chilly. They'll have no choice but to accept the ninja within them and by the end of the night, they'll be painting their nails black like the Akatsuki members. So, who else wants one? C'mon, I know you, Japanator readers. [Via Nebs]

Earlier this week, Zac Bertschy was kind enough to invite me onto the latest episode of the ANNCast to talk about reviews: the philosophy of it, some of the best/worst experiences, and answering a lot of questions from the folks on twitter. Joining me in the show were Mike Toole, a regular writer for Otaku USA and Clarissa Graffeo from Anime World Order, along with Bamboo and Zac, representing ANN. All of them proved to me much more well-put together and vocal on the subject, but you can occasionally hear me pipe in on the subject. I suppose I need to get back into podcasting, eh? I'll have some more practice appearing on Anime3000's podcast this Sunday. Be sure to check out this episode and the rest of their podcast -- I've found ANNCast to be one of my regular listens, as it's got a great pool of talent and high-end guests on it that provide something new to the discussion of anime that you don't always hear from reading news articles on ANN. It's kind of like delving into their forums, but without having to get your hands dirty.

In all seriousness, it was a great podcast, with lots of good advice for aspiring writers such as myself."...read more
I certainly wasn't expecting to see Miyuki vs. Zombies, much less an evil yandere Miyuki. We've got the opening video for the upcoming Lucky Star: Net Idol Meister PSP game waiting for you after the jump, where it looks like this rhythm game/Idolmaster parody should be fun for most Lucky Star fans. The game hits Japanese shelves on December 24th, so all the otaku can have something to do on Christmas Eve besides get laid. If you're looking to get the special edition -- because what fan wouldn't -- it's going to set you back 8,190 yen. So beware. This might be one of those titles I pick up the next time I'm at Otakon, since I'm sure some of the importers will have it there. Any of you looking to try this?

To an extent, I've grown out of wearing shirts with Japanese sprawled across my chest. I still find myself dressing up in Japanese shirts for your sake, but I tend to hold myself back from buying new shirts. But...that's gone out the window with my recent obsession with Toradora! and all things tsundere. If you happen to remember a kinetic typography of Suzumiya Haruhi's class introduction (it's after the jump if you don't), J-List got the artist to create a shirt for them based around three of the big tsundere girls: Taiga from Toradora!, Louis from Zero no Tsukaima and Shana from Shakugan no Shana. Somehow...somehow I am going to make this shirt work. I've got an entire closet full of items that I can use to simultaneously highlight my love of those difficult girls and look damn sexy doing so. I may need a haircut and it wouldn't hurt to drop those ten extra pounds, but I will do it. We've also got a poll for you down below: I'm curious, how many of you actually wear otaku-related clothing, and in what situations?

As part of our celebration of all things Evangelion today since the film 1.01 has been released, I figured it would be a good time to poke my head into Pixiv, the Japanese DeviantArt, and find some works that caught my eye. After sifting through a number of pages of works, I finally came up with 16 images that really got my heart. Down after the jump are a list of all the artists, and I figured I'd stick with just those that I could source off of Pixiv, as I already added a wide range of Asuka x Shinji shipping pictures to Danica's post back on Idol Day. With Evangelion 3.0 and 4.0 still not out yet, it feels like Neon Genesis Evangelion is going to be a show that's just as, if not more, influential for fans than Dragon Ball. Just something to chew on while you enjoy the pretty pictures.

Welcome faithful readers, to the latest edition of Rock the Charts, where we let you know the goings on of the Japanese box office. This week, we're seeing foreign films poke their heads into the Japanese market with a rather sickly display, with titles like Drag Me To Hell, Saw VI and My Rainy Days barely making a splash. 1. Michael Jackson's This Is It. 2nd week, pulling in $3.93 million. 2. I Give My First Love to You. 3rd week, pulling in $2.10 million. 3. The Sun That Never Sets. 3rd week, pulling in $1.75 million. 4. Fresh Pretty Cure the Movie: The Kingdom of Toys. 2nd week, pulling in $1.03 million. 5. Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor. 5th week, pulling in $970k. 6. The Rebirth of Buddha. 4th week, pulling in $695k. 7. Drag Me To Hell. 1st week, pulling in $543k. 8. Feel the Wind. 2nd week, pulling in $538k. 9. Saw VI. 1st week, pulling in $444k. 10. My Rainy Days. 1st week, pulling in $331k. Of course, we see that Michael Jackson still holds the attention of many Japanese, as I noticed a lot of my friends from Japan going to see the flick this week, I'm sure the grossings should prove helpful to the Jackson estate.
