Ah more fuel to the fire. God I hate this censorship. People why I don't buy american domestic releases. I have no problem supporting companies who don't do censorship, but once series gets censored I know longer support. It's my way of boycotting and showing that people care about alterations of other people's hard work. If you guys don't know this is why some Mangaka (those few who have full control of their works) are against international releases of their works. Originally many artists were pissed off by alterations in mirroring the artwork, but enough whining has pushed american companies to stick to the right to left model.

If you are real fan of the series you should be protecting the creative rights of the mangaka by boycotting such censorship. This is our way of telling those american companies that we aren't going to buy their product if they censor creative works.

Does anyone know if the actual english manga is censored like this as well, or just the magazine issue?

Meh I don't care about it that much.

You'd be surprised at how many manga-ka either a. don't give a shit about censorship or b. will work with US pubs who request it. Hirohiko Araki actually re-drew parts of the US Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (aka BEST MANGA EVER) himself. I happily buy it, because I love Jojo and Araki to bits and pieces, always have, and am glad that Jojo is finally, FINALLY getting some love Stateside.

Minor alterations like this aren't worth boycotting, IMO. You gotta do what you gotta do to get this stuff to the 13-year-olds who are buying Shonen Jump like a pack of rabid wolves. Shit like the early Tenjho Tenge volumes, where they eviscerated half the book, is worth ignoring. (They aren't censoring it anymore, BTW, but I still ain't buying.)

The only aritsts I know that actively dislike having their works distributed internationally are doujinshi artists, primarily because their work gets scanned/translated/distro'ed on the web by western fans when they don't want it to be. I've actually been refused sales at Comiket for being foreign. Sad but true.

Zero-chan I'll agree with you on that Manga-ka(s) don't worry about censorship. I'm sure their are some that do. But when it come to making more money by just changing a few things, view can be change. Over all I don't support censorship. I could rant about it more but in short. It a destructive thing for the original work and art censorship don't bug me as much as captions being censored.

Are sure its censored? Because my brother has been getting the manga volumes (Up to 10) and they say some pretty mature stuff. For example: Kyon commenting on Tatsuki breast size. Among other things I thought would be censored but wasn't.

Also note that they do advertise that Bleach airs on [adult swim] on the back the books, so that could be another reason why they wouldn't change those Double D's to C's. I could be wrong though, maybe they do censor it and it does suck that they censor Bleach but I never noticed yet.

And yes those "things" are retarded. Can I also add that Matsumoto sucks in general?

Guys, just so you know, the actual graphic novel releases are unedited. It's only in the magazine. They did the same thing to her when they did a Bleach preview last year. The stuff from the chapters before this also had some edits, but I got volumes 21 and 22 and the edits aren't there. No need to get all up in arms. Even if this did carry over to the actual graphic novels, Rangiku's cleavage doesn't affect the story at all (well maybe for the pervs, but otherwise no).
