Opening ceremonies have come and gone, and another Anime Matsuri blesses the deep south. Something I'm really loving about these smaller, yet up and coming cons is how personal everything is. Performers and guests walked in hand in hand. We got a chance right off the bat to hear from Luci Christan (Duck/Tutu in Princess Tutu), Kate Higgins (Sakura in Naruto, soon to be C.C. in Code Geass), Sonny Strait (Krillian in DBZ), and some VA named Vic MigSomethingOrOther.

Not just VA's were over-glorified, as the ceremonies introduced us to all of the con's major musical performers. Bespa Kumamero (who we met at the grocery store) were there in their stylish fashion. Their concert is tonight, in t-minus two hours. Aural Vampire and Nirgilis weren't to be outdone, and got a rousing crowd ovation. Talent met looks when we were introduced to the talented cosplayers JoeEllen Elam, Diana Tolin, and Yaya Han. This of course was just the tip of the iceberg, as many more were just unavailable at the moment.

Last, but surely not least we got some face time with the con's adminstration. While many were busy glomping Vic FiletMigont, we chatted with Deneice Phan, convention chair, who came to the opening cerimony decked in a gorgeous C.C. outfit. This is gonna be a great weekend.
