Gunpla, or “Gundam Plastic Models” might not seem like art at first glance. Maybe it has something to do with their commercial value or worldwide availability, or if you put them together wrong they look like crap (exclusively my problem.) This may be true, the art might not be in the kit off the shelf, or even if you construct the beast; but I believe it comes into play if you take it a step forward. Sanding, painting, airbrushing, decaling, and even adding new parts or taking away others is how this hunk of plastic evolves into a miniature Michelangelo's David.
Placing this model in an environment, making it into a diorama is the ultimate evolution of the Gunpla; basically the Charizard of the evolutionary cycle. This is no easy step as you can see here, this is no walk in a colony park. For this Featured Fan Art I provided you all with a small sample of awesome Gunpla from around the globe; but as you might of guessed there are a lot more out there that I might have missed. But don’t worry because there are a lot more Featured Fan Art articles in my life, I can always pick up the slack later. Also, because I know a lot of you don’t like Gundam, I also included some other models in there to spice it up a little. Enjoy!
