To no surprise, Bandai Entertainment has snatched up the rights to the Gurren Lagann manga at the New York Anime Festival earlier today. Of course Bandai Entertainment would grab the manga seeing as they have the anime, which was violently stolen from ADV’s cold dead hands. The manga is drawn by a man known as Kotaro Mori, and is currently published in Dengeki Daioh magazine.

To be honest, I never read the Gurren Lagann manga; not even a page. Before you execute me I just want to know how great it is, and how sad I should be for not reading it. From what I know it does take some liberties with the source material, but still pretty much follows the story. Either way, I will be reading this once it comes out sometime in 2009.
