I know all of you are dying to watch the live-action adaptation of Akira that will come out sometime in the next ten years. I know this isn’t much, but will a parody of its trailer be enough to tide you over until it eventually arrives? It better be, because the real trailer is at least two years off, if I did my calculations correctly. This video perhaps shows us the worst possible situation that could happen to this franchise; the nightmare situation if you will.
However, I doubt the actual live-action film will fall this low. To the point when motorcycles talk, where there is product placement on every billboard, where all the main characters are lovable little menaces who constantly use the world “darn”. It will be marketed to an older audience, to the audience that grew up watching the movie in their parent’s basement when everyone was asleep. Hollywood can’t screw this up, Akira will print money if they make it correctly.
That was freakin' hilarious! They should make a Saturday morning cartoon out of this. Oh wait, I think all current cartoons are already like this. Seriously though, I do hope that they can say the names right.
I fear this trailer is going to be at least half correct with its nightmarish predictions. I hope fans go ballistic before Hollywood does any of this (like DB fans).
