Well, we know he can do choreographed fight scenes. And Spike really isn't much of a talker, so I think he might be able to pull it off. Look at the first Matrix, he said like 60 lines in the whole thing and that movie kicked ass. I'm more worried about who they're going to get to direct, personally.

But let's be honest with ourselves,just because it's bebop it won;t make it suck any less, I have no hope for this movie, and I'd be perfectly fine with it surprising me and being good.

But with the trailer/footage of Astro Boy movie, and Dragonball Z movie, I think I can tell exactly where this is headed.

Most movies are awful nowadays, writers are running out of ideas/ studios are only licensing bad ones, and now their licensing good properties of other forms/ foreign forms of media to turn into horrible-quality movies. God-knows if Watchmen will be as good as I hope it is, I loved the comic book, and among many other properties that have been murdered I think we'll see quite a few more old anime murdered in coming years, or just bad anime made into movies Sailor Moon movie anyone, or maybe in a couple of years Naruto? Now before I finish this is all referring to American adaptations of anime not, Japaneses adaptations, I have never seen any Japanese adaptations so I would not know.

I liked "Speed." KR wasn't that bad in it. I think he'll be fine in Cowboy Bebop as long as he has a good supporting cast to help him out. He's no Johnny Depp; pulling a movie by himself is impossible.

Well they said they would work to retain the source as best they could. So hopefully, smoking will stay in just because. and reaves might be able to pull of spike w/ just the right ammount of finesce. who knows.

I'm gonna wait to see a trailer before I judge this. It has a lot more potential than the Dragonball movie, that's for sure, even with Keanu Reeves involved. Scanner Darkly was a pretty good movie and he's not necessarily a bad actor. In any case, I say there's at least some good odds with this one doing well (better odds than all the others in production atm at least...)

If the movie can retain the '90's style retro-futurism that the original anime had, then I'd definitely be psyched. Cowboy Bebop has potential to be live-action, and I'm not adverse to any Hollywood adapatations, provided they're done well.

In the case of bebop, I'm a fan primarily of its 90's retro-futurism, so if they maintain some of that 90s feel in a few eras, I'd be happy.

Only thing I'm displease about is the intended script that was rumoured about, but I hope they change it.

No. NO anime should be turned into a live action movie. ESPECIALLY COWBOY BEBOP! I don't care WHO does it. They are animated for a reason. These are characters that can only be portrayed through their animated selves and their talented voice cast, nothing more. Why do you all have to be so down about this already? Yes, they are going to make a live action movie. Yes, maybe, Keanu Reeves will play Spike. Neither of these are really bad or good. Despite what people say I like Keanu Reeves. And since almost every movie that he has played in has become a blockbuster should make you people happy. why? because it insures a big budget. what was the last, recent, small budget film that he has done? Also, he is not that bad an actor, and takes his carrier very seriously. Yeah, Neo says like 50-60 lines in the matrix. Do you really think that spike said more then that in the CB movie. Keanu can do the fight scenes, and he looks enough like spike. you shouldn't be worried about the cast. the only thing that you should be worried about is the director. with a good director even bad actors and a low budget can come out wonderful. with a bad one, a great budget and a wonderful cast can come out like crap. Don't believe me, look at all of Uwe Bowls films.

There are two reasons they want to make it a live action film in America. one: they want to suck more money out of the franchise. yeah, it's true. Two: too many people will refuse to watch the series or movie just because it is animated. there are alot of people that will look down on a great film just because it's not live action. this is the only way to get a great story to those people. So to every one who is crying and whining about the fact that their making a movie please...shut up. Keanu Reeves, good thing. A big budget follows him every where. The only thing you have to worry about is the director. every film hinges on this person.
