  I was surprised about both Ouran and Code Geass being licensed so fast. Especially Ouran since it is not such a huge blockbuster (although I totally *love* that show) as Code Geass is (and will become, 2nd season anyone? Following Suzumiya Haruhi's pattern...) But Bandai's didn't come to me as a surprise as being the one licensing it.
  
  From an objective point of view, it will be hit among shoujo for Funi's Ouran and a hit among shounen for Bandai's Code Geass. One exception is that, with the art done by CLAMP for Code Geass and the plot having similar themes as Gundam Seed (which had very good success among guys *and* girls), I see Code Geass taking the lead. But then again, people might just be tired of another robot show and go for comedy... But following the success of Suzumiya Haruhi's licensing and marketing, Bandai will be the one crashing through our houses.

• On Anime Expo 2007 Part 04: SOS Brigade at 07/01/2007 00:31am

  I'm sure a lot of people were looking forward to this performance.... and no cameras? And what was this story I heard that they would attempt to do the biggest Haruhi dance ever made? That didn't seem to happen at all according to this blog post... Very sad story.
  
  And the technical team blunder is surprising. I have experience being a sound and lighting technician back in high school for musical shows for over 2 years and we would never even think of having such problems as we rehearsed a lot. So I am guessing that the tech team in charge at this time was put together in some kind of rush and they never rehearsed the show before it was live. What could explain the 3 to xx hours wait? Their tech team got in a traffic jam and had to be replaced with some non-tech people? Was the equipment not delivered to the right location (the missing mics)?
  
  I just feel its really too bad, ASOS brigade's videos were quite fun and they even had some actual Japanese people in the team (Mikuru and Yuki if I remember well) -- and not some crazy looking otakus. From what I understand I think these were the same people that did the performance at AX.
  
  Bah I didn't even see the damn show, what am I complaining about..

  Mamoru Miyano voicing Tamaki is partly the reason I dislike the Death Note anime... Tamaki and Light are complete opposites and in the anime version, Light is even more cynical than the manga version (which I am about to finish with the last volume) and just throws me totally off. I like Tamaki way better (and Ouran is truly a nice piece of comedy & slice of life).
