Macross day!? you just invented my favorite day!
- On Otaku formally marries Nene Anegasaki from Love Plus at 11/18 11:27pm
too bad her parents aren't paying for the wedding
- On Tokujō Kabachi!! Kabachitare! 2 gets a drama adaption at 11/10 3:01pm
I love everything this girl is in, whether or not she's a main character
- On This is happening: Hideo Kojima and Neon Genesis Evangelion creator judging a Twilight art contest at 11/04 12:53pm
No reason to bash on Kojima, it's not like he knows or cares that the English language is being butchered. Who knows, maybe the translators are making the book even sound clever
- On How about Japanator's own list of the 25 greatest anime characters? at 11/01 11:52pm
good to see Nekki Basara made it on to the list of a few people
- On Oricon's top 5 tearjerker RPGs (from Japanese gamers) at 10/30 7:12pm
Does Clannad even count as an RPG? cause throwing visual novels in the mix seems unfair.
- On How about Japanator's own list of the 25 greatest anime characters? at 10/30 6:51pm
personal favorites...hmmm
1. Kamina (Gurren Lagann)
2. Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop)
3. Tsujimoto Natsumi (You're Under Arrest)
4. Sakagami Tomoyo (Clannad)
5. Kusanagi Makoto (Ghost in the Shell
6. Ryougi Shiki (Kara no Kyoukai)
7. Himura Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin)
8. Harima Kenji (School Rumble)
9. Revy (Black Lagoon)
10.Nekki Basara (Macross 7)
In conclusion, I think my list is almost synonymous with "who would you want on your team in a fight".
However, Kyon, Yuichi, and Tomoya probably should have made it on my list. If I wanted a fair fight, they'd be on my team.
- On IGN tells us who the top 25 most popular anime characters are at 10/28 5:56pm
Well all my favorite characters I pretty much expect to never be on any top character lists. Nekki Basara being one of them.
- On Burger King's Windows 7 whopper: 7 patties, 2,120 calories at 10/22 11:50am
throw a slice of cheese between all those and wrap it in bacon and I'm all over it
- On This live-action Macross vid appears, I RAGE at 10/21 9:39pm
I second Niko.
俺の歌を聞け!FIRE!
- On Doing it wrong: Man hates being single, attacks woman at 10/17 6:33pm
this is one of those situations where you have to ask, "are you sure the problem isn't YOU?"
- On Goodbye, Spiral race at 10/17 11:19am
俺たちを誰だと思うてやがれ!!
- On Goodbye, Spiral race at 10/17 04:16am
Do the impossible by kicking reason to the curb! that's how we roll.
- On Captain Bright, we're here to help! at 10/16 6:36pm
Do you guys have a robot the size of a FREAK'N GALAXY! No? You guys are screwed(unintended pun).
- On Ken Hirai sings Hikki-chan's First Love at 10/16 1:54pm
I'm impressed that a dude pulled off that song, and he rocked that ending and key change
- On Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya film opens in 2010 at 10/08 2:42pm
I was hoping that that's what the 2nd season was going to be about. On the bright side, the entire 2nd season was monotonous enough for me to feel no obligation to it at all, money saved.
- On Viz begins to accept original submissions at 10/08 10:29am
I would, but my fonts were all free, and the conditions were that they would only be used for free stuff or self publishing. so... I'd have to go 110 pages back and re-do all the dialogue...
- On Weekly Otaku Debate: Nodame Cantabile vs Hana Yori Dango at 10/07 9:07pm
Nodame Cantabile. If Chiaki can throw Nodame as far as he can, I choose him in a fight.
- On 'Banana Street' video is...uh... at 10/02 6:46pm
actually, Sesame Street is what I remember best about Japan. I turn on the TV and see Elmo screaming "Yatta!" and Cookie Monster is all "Ittadakimasu~!" and throwing cookies in his face. What was crazy is that they kept the same pitch as their english counterparts, which almost leads me to believe they kept the same voices and made them say it in Japanese. which would be awesome.
- On Watch out: The things your Japanese boyfriend/girlfriend will look out for when they visit at 09/30 9:09pm
moe figures is higher on that list than I'd have thought, but I guess it is japan. DVD collection would probably be the first thing I'd look at. I'm a bit snobbish when it comes to film in a weird way. DVD rack is like: anime, kurosawa and japanese films, noir and classic (40s-60s), and action/suspense/scifi. Then again, I own Josie and the Pussycats, so what right do I have to judge people and their films.
