Tut tut-- read Brad's words, man! It was Ali Kokmen from Del Rey in that first post, not a Kodansha rep-- and technically all he said was that he hadn't heard anything at BEA, and that they were setting up new licenses with Kodansha at that time.

You SHOULD care about who got ADV's stuff-- at least enough to know that it's all essentially ADV part II-- three of the four companies are registered by the same guy, former ADV lawyer Griffin Vance, and the companies already employ most of the former ADV employees (the primary exception being founder John Ledford). Word from ADV is that one of the companies, Sxion 23 (division: Section 23 Films) will be continuing all of ADV's releases.

Children, remember, in addition to paying for the Gundam itself, there is shipping, and actually finding a location willing and able to house it properly. Also, since it was built for a temporary stay in Japan during the summer, it would probably need to be a location where the weather wouldn't become a problem, which narrows things down even further. :)

Imported to note that the survey where nearly 99% of Japan said they weren't in favor of simple possession of kiddie porn being illegal-- it was an online survey on a website, not a formal survey with a random sampling or anything.
Still an impressive number though, as I noted elsewhere.

Look, I can related to being too broke and/or lazy to buy your anime. It's wrong, but at least it's understandable.
But this guy was either too dumb to realize the repercussions of his/her actions, in which case I pray they never reproduce, or (and I think this is more likely) they were being outright malicious. And that, I do NOT understand. What's with all the hate?

You know, even after reading our live blog, understand that we generally had "some" nice things to say about the movie, namely that it is exactly as you say.
A tolerably bad, but mildly entertaining movie that is ultimately judged harshly and viewed at all because of its brand name.
