Elfen Lied, Fushigi Yugi, more get DVD/BD release dates
ANN wrote a few blurbs regarding the street dates for several releases coming up in the way of old-ass anime getting the DVD and BD treatment. On the list are Fushigi Yugi (OVA), Elfen Lied, Gao-Gai-Gar (November 27 release), and more (see the first link in post). Fushigi Yugi (OVA DVD collection) is already for sale at Right Stuf and the release date is set to February 26. The MSRP is US$34.99 though at the time of writing, there's a pretty sweet discount to be had. Man, I used to be obsessed with this show back in the day. I don't know if I'd enjoy it if I were to re-watch it now, though. Still, it's always good to see stuff re-released for older fans. This also served to remind me that Chichiri is one of my favorite anime characters ever. Elfen Lied (2004) is being upgraded to glorious Blu-ray, so you can catch all the blood and guts in full resolution and everything else that comes with that format. Animate reports that it'll be released on December 19th and will include all of the TV episodes, a bonus episode and an exclusive, bonus manga by the original creator.
