Evangelion hotel room is now taking reservations photo

Hardcore Evangelion fans looking for innovative methods to part ways with large chunks of their money should take note. The Eva-themed hotel room we reported about a while back has just opened up today at Highland Resort and Spa in Fujiyoshida, Japan. For the equivalent of $450 per night, you too can sleep with up to two friends inside an Evangelion entry plug. It sounds cramped, but the oversized plug has plenty of breathing room even with a queen-size bed, a ceiling TV, and other odds and ends. In fact, everything is a lot more spacious than the concept art in the header image suggests.

The special room doesn't end there, as talking pictures of Rei Ayanami adorn the walls, which also hide secret messages viewable with a black light. A requisite statue of Rei is also included, though kept behind glass walls, likely for her own safety from the deviances of hardcore fans.

A video on the Yoshimoto troupe's Yahoo page shows off the luxury room (along with shots of Evangelion World), which I am happy to admire from afar. No matter how swanky your hotel room is, it doesn't change the fact that you really just need a place to sleep and store your stuff; I never spend my valuable vacation time hanging out in my room. But don't let my personal biases stop you. Are you planning on spending a night sleeping in a mechanical womb?

But does it submerge you in inert fluid as you sleep?
