A good Evangelion game, are you crazy God Len? Yes, this might seem like Bizarro world, but a good Evangelion game might be possible within our lifetime with Evangelion: Jo. It is an action/adventure game for the PS2 and PSP, based off of both the original anime and Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone. From the looks of it, the story takes after the anime series, while the angel and Evangelion design will be based off of the movie.
Evangelion: Jo will consist of third-person action scenes where you must pilot the eva in order to destroy an angel, or fulfill some kind of necessary story event like the rampaging Jet Alone. Other than that you roam around town or NERV HQ, and talk to people to move the plot forward; much like your average role playing game. The game will be released June 4th of 2009, and hopefully sometime in the future for us dirty gaijin. Get your plug suit on and take a look at Evangelion: Jo’s epic preview video after the jump.

im wondering how well it plays... also i dont see how some Angel fights would work beyond rapidly press X to stop the angel from crushing you or something =/
Sure, it looks cool enough, but I can't shake the feeling that it's been done before. I know I saw a long time ago, a game that looked simillar on the PSOne... I just don't see the point in making this game, I mean I like Eva and all, but this game doesn't look like it brings anything new to the story of the anime, I'd just feel like I was re-living the events of the anime in 3D.
Come to think of it, how come there hasn't been a Shadow of the Colossus-style Eva game, where you face all 17 angels (plus those few other random enemies), with some story elements between those sections? Seems like a no-brainer...
Evangelion game is absolutely awesome I must say. I have played it few times and there is so much nice emotions from it for me. I would definitely purchae more such games if developed too. Thanks for the great article by the way.
