I really didn't know what Vocaloid was or why everyone liked it so much, so my being curious I decided to go on Youtube and listen to the songs and see if I can figure it out. Needless to say I got it and now can't stop listening to some of the Vocaloid songs and I am always looking for new songs to listen to from these wonderful programs. While broswing for some videos I came across a english version of the Miku song Love is War, now I was very skecptial about how it would sound and how it was translated. Well to my surprised it was actually extremely good and I loved it. The song was song by youtube user Rockleetist and I decided to check out more of the songs she had sung.
Each song I listened to was done so well and sung great as well to. I noticed that instead of singing a direct translation of each song she had re worked the lyrics so that it was possible to sing in english but even with a different translation she still was able to keep the orignal feeling of the orignal lyrics. Two of my favorite songs that are song by her are Love is War and Last Night Good Night.
Here is her version of Love is War, It was already a very emotionally charged song when Miku was sining it and I love that version to but to me being able to hear and understand the song gives it alot more feeling to me.
Here is her version of Last Night Good Night. Personally I love this version better then the orignal, please don't hurt me. I am still in awe of how she can hit those extremely high notes, I know if I even tried that my head would explode. Now the orignal japanese version is still very beautiful but since I don't understand japanese I feel kinda empty since I have no idea what she is saying. That's why I find the english version a little more emotional for me since I understand everything she is singing and get the point.
I highly suggest that if you are a fan of Vocaloid that you check out her channel and give her a listen, you won't be let down. She has just added to more songs, Miku's Melody and Luka's just be friends which I must say is becoming one of my new favorites at the moment.
