I am vibrating, barely able to contain an outburst of affection and emotion. Sorry for the screaming title, but I was just so taken with the above news clip.

Meet Maki-chan, a white Shiba Inu, not unlike our friend Keikun (Otousan from the SoftBank commercials). Maki lives in northern Japan, where she has taken it upon herself to be the mama to two little kittens. Foster mom. Adorable.

The shot of Maki nuzzling the kittens in her dog house kills me. The loving face bites and licking at 2:22 nearly stops my heart. I love how she looks on with a loving face as her kittens play in the yard.

The story goes on in this ten minute video. I won't ruin it for you, but it gets a bit sadder, though, even getting to the point where Maki wouldn't even eat her meals. Keep watching though -- you won't believe what happens about 7:40 in.
