Fabulous news guys, we're getting a Star Driver movie!
The chap in charge of anime-related endeavours at television station MBS has confirmed that Star Driver will be receiving a theatrical release. Seija Takeda spilled the beans during a presentation at 'Anime Business Forum+ 2012', while also noting that Atsushi Takahasi (assistant director for Spirited Away and Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai) will be directing the Blue Exorcist movie. The Blue Exorcist film is, are far as we can tell, on track for a 2012 release. It's a little too early to speculate on the Star Driver movie's release date, but I'm sure we'll be hearing more now that the cat's out of the bag. I have very mixed feelings towards Star Driver, but I'll watch the film so long as it isn't a glorified recap episode. Considering the ending of the television series, there's plenty of things they can work into a film. Comiket certainly found enough. [via Gigazine] Did you know?
