First look at the new Final Fantasy VII anime series
by Zac Bentz, 07/21/2009

There can be no debate. Final Fantasy VII is far and away the most popular game in the never ending series. There have been a few minor spin-offs as well as the monumental full-length animated movie Advent Children. It was really only a matter of time before the long lived and beloved series was brought to the world of anime, and you can see the opening in the video above!

While the game itself has a deep storyline full of colorful characters, there are obviously many stories left to be told and fleshed out. Plus, in this new series directed by none other than the legendary Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion), there are already rumors that he will be adding a few twists to the original plot, including a Cloud/Zack pairing and the potential resurrection of a certain be-ribboned character in the final act! Did somebody say love-triangle?

So far there is no word on whether or not Nobuo Uematsu, the man behind much of the Final Fantasy music, will be adding a new score for the series, but we do know for sure that everyone who has ever submitted a Final Fantasy VII track to Overclocked Remix will finally have their dreams come true and be included in the official 253 disc CD soundtrack release. Bump of Chicken provide the theme song for the OP.

The first episode will air Augtembuary 32nd, 20X9.
