Hello! I found this (beautiful, amazing) place when I was looking for internships, somehow, and I've been reading every single article and blog ever since! If you're wondering how any normal anime fan could have failed to find Japanator for so long, I'm not sure, but it may have something to do with my usual avoidance of the internet for the sake of productivity. -_-;;
Anyway, I'm addicted now so it's all well and good. :3 I'm not anyone important, but I am used to talking people's ears off about Japan and anime so I hope I will be able to contribute somewhat.
So, details. My favorite anime are: Inuyasha (these parentheses will give you a minute to quell your shock and rage, ok, we good?), Air TV, Haruhi, Higurashi, Baccano, Princess Tutu, etc to infinity. And to be honest, I'll watch pretty much anything that has a healthy dose of moe in it.
As far as manga, I like FMA, Fruits Basket, XXXHolic, Ray, and Maison Ikkoku.
I have a collectible figure problem. I've been obsessed with them since I was about eight, I think. I also love to sew and wear cosplay, and I do the best job making my costumes as accurate as I can.
In real life, I'm a college student studying Japanese history. Most days I can be found desperately studying kanji.
That was long, sorry! I will try not to spew so much text in the future. It's been fun reading everyone's comments so far!

Greetings and welcome. I also have a collectible figure problem :) I'm impressed you've gone to the trouble of learning kanji. I wanted to do that solely to understand import games. Also don't worry about not finding this site earlier, I only found it when a friend showed it to another friend of mine, and I just happened to be there.

Welcome aboard! It's always good to have someone with a love of Japanese history on the site. Now I'm not as alone! *hi five*
So, what sort of internships were you actually looking for when you came across Japanator?
Also, have you checked out our collectible toy site Tomopop (http://www.tomopop.com)?

Lol, as someone big into Sailor Moon I don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to putting down someone's favorite show:). I don't say anything about Inu-Yasha to my friend who likes it, because she knows karate and she could totally kill me.

Approximately where are you in your Kanji study? Just curious- I'm getting back into it after a hiatus.

Welcome to Japanator!
If you like the Higurashi anime give the manga a shot, it's superior then the anime. Also MangaGamer (http://www.mangagamer.com/allages/Titles/Details/DB2324F5-8829-455B-B75B-93C14A560794/higurashi-when-they-cry) (NSFW) has just released the visual novels on their site for €36.95 ($53.andsomething)

Studying Japanese history, teaching yourself kanji, and sewing your own costumes? You're saying you have time for all of that by just avoiding the internet for most of the day?
I should try that.
By the way, you didn't specify your gender, but I'm guessing you're a gir-BWAHAHA INUYASHA!
I've never actually seen Inuyasha.

Yo. ('=')/
I'm pretty new here, too. Moe is fun, but for me, not overly so, I guess.
I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few guys who read all of Fruits Basket, but that, Inuyasha and xxxHolic/Tsubasa made me realize that everything is going the Dragonball Z route. -_-
Anyway, yeah, welcome. I'm the game-nerd around here, I think.

Oh thank you for replying everyone!! O(≧∇≦)O
@DickMcVengeance-Yeah I found Tomopop while I was looking around here! I've only gone through about 2 pages of previous articles over there, but I've already found about 20 things I want. -_- Alas, expensive hobbies.
Welllllll, I want to be a translator, actually. So I was looking for Japanese-English translation internships or something where I could at least use some of my weird Japanese/East Asia-related knowledge.
@KarenGellender-My suitemates sometimes make fun of me for liking Inuyasha, but they stop when I remind them that I am quite accurate with my bow. :3
Hm, I'm supposed to know about 700 kanji by now, but for me kanji is the most difficult part of Japanese, so I can't really count myself as knowing that many. Hopefully I will get them all down by the end of this semester, in addition to the new ones, though. How about you?
@Setre-Yes, I couldn't keep myself from getting the game as soon as it was released by mangagamer! I'm enjoying learning more details about Hinamizawa.
@PBz0r-Well, I also don't sleep that much, which helps with the productivity. And yes, I'm a girl. xD
