Herro Japanator folks,

like everyone here we all like anime. I always felt that anime is a part of my life no matter how I try to pull myself away from it, it keeps coming back like a boomerang. I also enjoy J-drama shows in a unhealthy way, though I'm behind a bit and catching up since I used to watch them when they aired them TV.

The first time I watched anime or animation would be Grave of the fireflies (strange how young I was when I watched it and it didn't give me nightmares.) It was followed up with Akira, my dad thought it was a cartoon and got it for me. It then stumbled onto Doraemon, Sailor Moon, Ranma, and Dragon Ball Z. I originally watched these in Cantonese on a lazer disc. (wtf is a lazer disc you ask? I'm that old.) At the time I didn't speak much English, but I tried watching it in Japanese as well when I didn't understand a lick of Japnese.

Fast forward to now where I'm a anime figure collector of over 200 figures, owning over 500 manga, 100 anime artbooks, 400 anime magazines, gone to over 10 anime conventions around the United States, cosplayed over 40 anime characters, and over 2 shelves filled with anime cellphone keychains and straps. I've spent a good portion of my time and money on this wonderful hobby.

I know that feeling of being short on cash to buy your favorite anime and manga. in middle school I saved up my lunch money to buy manga every month it was a sad time.
