so I don't know how many have heard of the site "ThatGuyWithTheGlasses" but it's the home of the Nostalgia Critic and someone named Marzgurl who does anime related news http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/ir/marzgurl/ane/16269-toonamis-new-line-up

anyway the video got me thinking about the current state of Adult Swim, for me the "golden age" of Adult Swim was 2001 - 2008, that's when I saw shows like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, FLCL, Case Closed, the Read or Die OVA, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in The Shell SAC, Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent, Eureka 7, Bleach, Blood + and Death Note

it was also where I first saw Neon Genesis Evangelion

Adult Swim along with Toonami was what really got me into anime, for years I would watch Adult Swim religiously every Saturday night, it was a ton of fun

but alas in 2008 trouble came afoot and when Adult Swim started playing Code Geass, but then changed the time slot to something ridiculous like 5:00 in the morning (I can't remember when specifically) that sadly was what pretty much killed my interest, that was just a bit too late for me, I still haven't seen Code Geass in its entirety

and the video raises a good point about how Adult Swim keeps playing the same anime over and over for years Cowboy Bebop was the first anime they ever showed and it's a classic to be sure, but next year they'll have been playing for TEN YEARS! I think it's time to let it go

so long story short Adult Swim needs some fresh content badly, no one knows what their news shows will be, but if it's some good ones I may start watching it again

what are your thoughts?

I would definitely agree, yet at the same time, I think Cartoon Network and Adult Swim in general are a lost cause. It's been clear since the death of Toonami that Cartoon Network no longer sees the point in airing good anime or in the very least, featuring them on Adult Swim. Cartoon Network has been infested with teen live-action shows (which is entirely counter-intuitive to the name of the network itself) while Adult Swim has been flooded with nothing but shows that must have been animated while the creators were on drugs (and not the good kind).

So I guess my point is, yes, Adult Swim needs to step it up, but it's been so bad for so long, I don't think any anime fans really think the network has any relevance anymore.
