so we have a thread for non-anime tv series, why not a thread for your favorite non-anime animated movies (yes including Disney)
for me, an awesome non-anime movie that comes pretty close to the style of anime would be the Canadian cult classic Heavy Metal

it's a ridiculously awesome and oh so 80's combination of sci fi, fantasy, 80's music and animated boobs
watching it, you can almost feel the mullet growing on your head
if you haven't seen I highly recommend you check it out

Don't remind me about Heavy Metal. I found it very far from the word 'enjoyable'.
And favourite animated movies? This'll be long and in no particular order:
Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Lion King, the Iron Giant, Toy Story (1 & 2), Aladdin, WALL-E, Up, Osmosis Jones (I make no apologies!), Monsters Inc, the Incredibles, Finding Nemo, (if it counts) the Nightmare Before Christmas, Sinbad: The Legend of the Seven Seas, Atlantis: The Lost Empire and probably a lot more I'm forgetting.

Most of the recent DC Universe movies arepretty good. Nathan Fillion as Steve Trevor hitting on Wonder Woman. That is the definition of win!!
From the older classics, there's Aladdin, The Lion King, and the Sword in the Stone.
From the newer CGI stuff there's Finding Nemo and of course Toy Story.

nearly anything DC has put out lately is golden, with special mentions to Under The Red Hood, wich made Jensen Ackles into a VERY good voice actor.

YESS!!!! I love the DC Timm-verse!!! I know these stand-alone movies aren't part of it, but they're made by him, and alot feature repeat awesome cast (Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly), plus new awesome voice actors (NATHAN FILLION!!! and SUMMER GLAU!!!!). Under the read hood was really good, and so was the new Batman/Superman one. Can't get enough Darkseid! If we're not gonna have a continuation of JLU, this is the next best thing.

we're not gonna get a new JLU anytime soon, they ARE however making a new show called ''Young Justice'' set for november, with character designs by the guy who did Red Hood, and its being penned by Greg Weisman as well, so thats going to kick epic ass.

Speaking of DCAU, I had to watch Superman & Batman - Apocalypse last night. Since when did eye lasers become the most powerful weapons in the universe?

are you talking superman beams or Darkseid beams?
cos Darkseid has the advantage of being, y'know a physical god.
the DCwiki has a big article on his ''omega beams'' and why they kick so much ass too.
not that he NEEDS them, he has a mathematical equation that ENDS ALL LIFE.
/end fanboy mode.
