Okay, so next Thursday my friend and I are having Anime movie night, the thing is she doesn't really watch anime, only one I think she has seen in Inuyasha and the anime dubbede by fourkids. Anyway I wanted to get some ideas on what movies I should pick, I already know to show her Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. So you guys got any other movies I should pick. I also own Read or Die but I don't if I should show that one or not.

Princess Mononoke, Sword of the Stranger, Kiki's Delivery Service, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and Perfect Blue. All offer a little something different but Perfect Blue may make her not want to watch anything else, so maybe hold off on that one. Definitely have her see Sword of the Stranger and the Girl Who Leapt Through time though, simply because she'll probably end up watching Miyazaki stuff later.

I second The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I'd also recommend Totoro, just because that one's a classic.

Everything Ghibli, really. Kon's work (Perfect Blue, Paprika) doesn't seem like a very good start and I didn't think Sword of the Stranger was all that interesting myself, but hey. You can add Mind Game and Makoto Shinkai's work (5cm, Yakusoku no Basho) to the list of solid choices too, if only for the visual aspect.
Another idea if you're going to spend a night watching anime movies back-to-back is to do a Kara no Kyoukai marathon. It's not on the level of the other films I mentioned (well that's what I think anyway), but it's not hard to get into and I'd probably do just that myself.

You can't go wrong with Ghibli. You could also throw in Voices of a Distant Star and The Place Promised in Our Early Days if your friend's not down for all-cute, all-the-time.

Anything Ghibli!
There I would start with Spirited Away. Then I'd show Princess Mononoke and then all of the others.
I recommend these because I don't know any of the others mentioned^^

Cowboy Bebop is excellent for introducing people to anime.

I second the "Sword of the Stranger."
There was a blog about Vampire D, so you could always bust out some Bloodlust.
