so anyone here enjoy Gantz?

I watched the anime last year and enjoyed it allot, but like allot of Gonzo anime it didn't have an ending

I've since been reading the Dark Horse release of the manga and loving it

I mean for one thing the breasts in this series are....incredible, just incredible, I mean holy shit (you also have to love the cheesecake photos between the chapters), plus I love just how bleak it is, the aliens Gantz forces these people to fight are so deadly that it often seems hopeless

I can't wait for the manga to continue where the anime veered off

so to sum up, Gantz: an awesome blend of surreality, amazing breasts and epic violence

P.S. I WTF'd when I saw that Sakuraoka in the manga looks exactly like Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider, is she supposed to be a cosplayer?

Yeah, the "ending" of the Anime was quite disappointing. I would consider it one of my favorite Anime if it weren't for the bad ending.

As for the Manga, I don't know how it is. Haven't read it, yet.

I've read that it's a dozen times better than the Anime, though, so maybe I should start reading it...sometime.

i thought it was pretty good until it got to the end and it just turnedi in to a wtf moment. i was like they are not seriously going to end it like this but they did :(

I'm waiting for Volume 9 to come out since that's about where the anime split. I really liked the series since while it's ultra-violent it still had a mature atmosphere about it. And despite Kei being a pretty unlikable person I did like his arc. His motivations for getting really good are kind of questionable but I do like that he did what I always tell myself I'd do in those situations and just set shit aside and focus on being rational and kicking ass.

I read volume 8 yesterday and finally near the end of it it gets different from the anime, yay!


there's a pretty cool plot twist *SPOILER OBVIOUSLY* apparently Gantz is something of an internet meme thanks to a blog that was kept by Nishi, chronicling his adventures with Gantz and there's people who notice all the collateral damage that their fights cause and think Nishi is telling the truth, this is cool because I always wondered if people noticed all the collateral damage that's caused by all the fights with the aliens

I didn't watch the anime yet but I've read some of its manga and I liked it very much too =D
That reminds me to check out the updates/new chapters. I left the manga when I had to study. -.-

I have to ask, there's seems to be some weirdness going on with the 9th volume

Amazon listed it's release date as February 17th so I checked my local bookstore and they didn't have it, so I asked and they said it wasn't even listed in their computer at all, not even as an upcoming release

well then I checked Dark Horse's site and they said March 10th so I went to the bookstore a few days after that and they still don't have it (I didn't ask that time though)

now I look on Amazon again and it's supposedly been released, but it only has the "available through these sellers" and not the option to buy directly from Amazon, which is mighty strange considering it's supposedly a new release, that usually only happens with older stuff

so does anyone know what's going on? has it been released or not? it's a shame this has suddenly become such a pain in the ass right when the manga reaches where the anime left off
