This thread is for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on DVDs and for those looking for ones that aren't in stores. So share where you download, watch, or buy your anime; or ask where you can find specific anime (or manga).

I watch a few shows on Sci-Fi/Chiller's Ani-Mondays, but other than that I watch new shows on lovelyanime.

Also, does anyone know of a good place i can watch/download SDF Macross?

Download sites? BakaBT.com for full series (you're going to need to register and they'll keep track of your ratio), TokyoTosho.info for everything else.

The full original SDF Macross can be downloaded here (http://www.bakabt.com/148859-super-dimensional-fortress-macross-w-b.html).

I sometimes rent anime from Netflix, but it sucks

for one thing there's tons of series that Netflix is either missing a few individual volumes of or don't have at all, there's also tons of anime that you have to wait endlessly for (mostly new stuff)

it's also annoying having to break up series among two (or more) rental sessions, I'm the type of person who if a series is short enough, likes to marathon it over one or two days, but I can only afford to rent three dvds at a time from netflix, this is especially annoying when you rent a series that is only 4 volumes long, meaning to have to wait a few days before seeing the last few episodes

still despite all that if everything goes smoothly it's great being able to rent all the volumes of a series, something you would definitely not find at your local blockbuster, as a matter of fact I rented and re-watched Paranoia Agent back in the summer

I have the Anime Network on cable so most new series I watch there, also I watch anime on Hulu and the Anime Network website.

Thanks for the link to Macross, PBz0r, that macross day made me really want to watch the series.

also,i know that there are a few free manga sites on the web (but, am too lazy to link them at the moment), but if you live near a book store that sells manga and have a lot of time but no money you can always leech from it. :p

Internet and Netflix.

Somehow Netflix has only the last two discs of Galaxy Angel. This is unacceptable.

I'm more into manga but I usually buy my stuff from Barns&Noble, Borders, or Right Stuf. On the occasion I want to read something that hasn't been officially released I usually go to OneManga or MangaFox.

When I did watch anime I used a stream site called ZOMGAnime or bought it from Best Buy or Right Stuf.

Recently I've been trying to save money and cut back on video games so I'm trying to fill that void. I figure it's as good as time as any to get back into anime. I've decided to go the torrent route this time and used AnimeSuki right now.

Question to anyone who doesn't mind answering: What player do you use to watch anime? I've currently got VLC Media Player.

Media Player Classic for absolutely every video format.

I use VLC player, too. I mean it covers subs better than any other player I have used, so I use it to watch foreign movies and subbed anime. :D

I use Media Player Classic. Used Zoomplayer for the longest time...But then I switched. For some reason. I don't know.

Media Player Classic with the Combined Community Codec Pack (http://www.cccp-project.net/).

Has always worked for me on any system, for every video format, without as much as a hiccup. Don't bother with VLC.

Thanks, I read that to fast and though he said Demonoid. I ended up sounding very stupid. :(

Oh, well. On a lighter note. I haven't gone to Destructoid in a while.

I use VLC for AVI's as I think it plays them better than the CCCP, but MPC with CCCP for everything else. I still like the controls and look and interface of VLC a lot more, but it doesn't do subs in MKV as well as CCCP.

And TokyoTosho.info is amazing. I think its the quickest and best source.

The same setup for me.

MPC does everything I need it to do, never crashes or lags, has better subtitles support.
