FUNimation Channel acquires several CPM titles' broadcast rights

For all of you who have the FUNimation Channel, FUNi has acquired the broadcast rights for several Central Park Media titles that they plan to show during their summer block. What they ended up grabbing was Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie, Record of Lodoss Wars, Roujin Z, Project A-ko , Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer, and Grave of the Fireflies. FORT WORTH, TX - April 10, 2007 -- FUNimation Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation and the market share leader for home video sales of Japanese animation in the United States, today announced that the company has acquired several anime titles from Central Park Media for broadcast on the company's 24/7 digital FUNimation Channel. The titles include Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie, which will debut as part of a new movie block on Saturday, May 5 at 8:00 p.m. ET. "We have acquired a good catalog of titles from CPM that include many fan favorites," mentioned Debra Kennedy, senior vice president of marketing and new media at FUNimation. "These titles provide a well-rounded mixture of series, OVAs and movies that will help expand our programming and round out our new movie block beginning in May." FUNimation acquired many popular titles from CPM including Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie, the Record of Lodoss Wars series, Roujin Z, the Project A-ko series, Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer, as well as the acclaimed Grave of the Fireflies feature.
