Navarre’s CEO, Kerry Deacon, said in a conference call to discuss FUNimations quarterly earnings report that Geneon’s fall had a positive impact on FUNimation’s sales. “[G]enerally we believe it could be positive to our position in the marketplace, both from a sales and a content acquisition basis.” This is most likely due to the failure of a couple strong series that Geneon held possession of. In which Deacon said, “very strong content such as Sailor Moon, Van Helsing, and Black Lagoon, whose futures are unknown."
But what Kerry Deacon didn’t know is that its called Hellsing; not Van Helsing, idiot. So if this show is such a strong force in the market place, then why could you not remember its name? In my opinion its all just a lie. Icv2 tells us that Navarre stock had a 40% decline in value last Thursday.
So enjoy this so-called positive impact while you can FUNimation, because Geneon’s body will one day rise again and bite you when you least suspect it. Now let me ask you one final question FUNimation; what would Goku do? I can tell you now that he would not gloat in the death of a fallen comrade. Goku is ashamed FUNimation, Goku is ashamed.
