It's no secret that Slayers is my favorite anime series of all time, and I was insanely excited for Slayers Revolution when it was first announced. When it came out a lot of people lost faith in it as it's a pretty aquired taste of an anime, but I thought it was an absolutely fantastic addition to the series. My only question was, "When the heck is this getting released here?!"

We now have an answer to that thanks to FUNimation Entertainment, who announced on Monday that it has officially licensed both Slayers Revolution and Slayers Evolution-R to be released in North America. The 13 episodes of Slayers Revolution aired in Japan starting in July of 2008, and Evolution-R is slated to start this month.

While we won't see the actual DVD releases until 2010, they have announced that digital releases of the episodes will be available this year. It is listed as a 26 episode release, which will be shown as Revolution being the first 13 episodes and Evolution-R being episode 14 through 26. I know I'm definitely throwing myself a DVD release party when these finally hit shelves, who's with me?
