FUNimation rescues Disgaea TV series from the underworld

Disgaea's well-known as Nippon Ichi Software's most "core" of core franchises. The hardcore stats-obsessed tactical RPG for the craziest of munchkins, Disgaea stars the evil lord Laharl and his quest to reconquer the Netherword after a nap gone two years too long.

Unsurprisingly, the quirky game and its equally quirky sense of humor managed to spawn a TV anime, which can be enjoyed by the more grinding-shy viewer. Publishing behemoth FUNimation has just rescued Disgaea from limbo, ready to deliver in early 2011.

To whet your appetite for evil, you can check out the first episode over on FUNi's video portal.

What about you? Are you ready to watch evil grow, or are you too busy leveling up in the item world?
