ok know the colour (problem) i dont see it when i think of a cockpit thats about howd i would imagin it not too flashy but it still has tha 'pop' factor
But Super Robots? If it doesn't have a flashy primary color somewhere on it, something isn't right. And I'd like to someone try and tell me that Gaiking isn't a Super Robot.
Anyways, I'm not saying it needs to be completely red, blue, and yellow, but a few splashes of color here and there probably wouldn't hurt.
Or if they do the same in the often promised (I don't know if it already turned into vapor) Evangelion movie?
It's just not the same without the colors. If you already ditched realism enough to add the big horns and chest skull (what's their purpose, apart from getting in the way and giving the enemy more surfaces to grab?), then a little bit of color for the old fans can't hurt.
A realistic mecha would have to be like the first image on that page (that's from Divergence Eve, great and underrated anime)... anything larger or fancier than that, and you're already getting into "a wizard did it" territory.
Engineers aren't aren't too smart at times. They also said the helicopter would never fly.

Anyway sweet trailer. The lack of color is probably a good thing. The way I see it the questions that could or would come to mind is: How do they paint that? How much paint is necessary to paint it? Do they just have a paint factory constantly making paint for that purpose? I 'd hate to be the guy to buff and wax it.
