Ever wonder what would happen if Tom Cruise's character in The Last Samurai had decided to start sleeping with Chinese male prostitutes instead of going to Japan? I do, all the time. Thank Goodness for DMP, who is going to be publishing the German yaoi manga that was just published earlier this year.
A "historical yaoi" set in 19th century San Francisco, the story follows George Callahan, an ex-surgeon who is haunted by his time in the Civil War. He turns to opium and soon after gets himself involved with the brothels in Chinatown. While searching for a woman from his past, he comes upon a dim-witted male prostitute, Jun, and everything heads south of the border from there.
There's plenty of story going to get in the way of reading two boys slamming into each other, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on your tastes. I felt this was necessary to highlight because the description was just that spectacular.
Oh, and I suppose there's the news that they're going to be renting chapters of the book over on their eManga website. The details of the entire plan are after the jump, and they actually don't sound too bad. It looks like DMP has the right idea with their rental service, so trying it out on the yaoi demographic might not be a bad place to start.
I am feel ashamed that I've never gotten the chance to go to the arcades like most people in my age group. Instead of hearing me whine about a great era that I missed out upon, let's rejoice over the idea that 100 Yen: The Ja...
