Namco Bandai has apparently filed trademarks for both The Idol Master and Shiny Festa over in Europe, which is something that blows my mind.
This franchise has been around for quite some time now, and it seems completely out of left field for Namco Bandai to suddenly decide it's worth localizing in English. Not so strange is the game choice; Shiny Festa is a fairly straight forward rhythm game that lacks most of the idol-raising gameplay from the main series. If any of the games could find real success, it's this one.
For what it's worth, I'd love to see iDOLM@STER in English in some official capacity. I recently watched the anime series and came to terms with the fact that I actually enjoyed it, so the more the merrier, right?
Needless to say, we'll be keeping our eyes on this one.
