This is going to get some flak from you guys, I'm sure.

Gerard Way, the frontman for the band My Chemical Romance, is co-producing Kyosuke Himuro's song that will be the ending theme for the Final Fantasy: Advent Children Comlpete. Way wrote and composed the song, and sings some vocals, although Himuro is the main singer. The song, "Safe and Sound," will be replacing "Calling," the original 2005 ending song in Advent Children.

You can check out the song over on Himuro's website and let us know what you think. Personally, I like it, but then again I'm a fan of My Chemical Romance -- and now I've probably just stopped 100 of you from reading the site. But for those of you who remained and want to rage about Way just trying to weasel into the anime world or some such, he's already a pretty big geek. Go read The Umbrella Academy -- it's a delightfully enjoyable comic.

Nothing bad with the guy trying to get exposure, making his way through the world. If he's earned it, then more power to him.

As long as it doesn't sound horrible then it doesn't matter to me.

It plays during the credits I think so the vast majority of people will most likely skip it anyway.

Well the video footage looks sexy, I want very much to see all the extra stuff.

I'm sorry though, the song is just bad it's the same "dunuh nunuh dunuh nunuh" through the WHOLE THING. It doesn't change at all except going up or down. Not complex at all.

If I could understand all of the lyrics is might be it's saving grace but I rather doubt it.

Regardless of what I think of the new ending, I really liked the old one Calling a lot. The combination of Cloud driving on his bike through the countryside while playing a song in that style was rather nice and relaxing. It gave the movie a nice finish that made actually WANT to sit through the credits, and it gave the feeling of "Wow...so it really is over...that was awesome". This new song just seems too much like all the other generic songs that producers pick randomly just to say they have a end theme song.

As a fan of Gerard Way, all I can say is that I'm pretty excited about this. He's a really talented guy, really creative too so I think he's gonna do a good job with this.

Oh why!? First he makes me not sit through the credits of Watchmen, now Advent Children as well?

Okay, I didn't hate it that much. It was actually pretty catchy, the problem I have is that it doesn't feel like an, "ending theme" sort of song. I could imagine it being used in a trailer for Advent Children, but as the actual credits? It really doesn't fit that well when you put it next to the rest of the soundtrack.

While I am NOT a fan of My Chemical Romance I can vouch for his geekery. He bought a lightsaber from my company's booth at Comic Con a few years ago.
