When I was up at Syracuse, I would always have to give rides to my friends. Even though some of them had cars. It was just more convenient to ask me. And to be honest, I didn't mind -- it usually gave me a break from whatever work I was doing, and gave me a chance to go out and about the town. By the end of it, I really knew the backroads of Syracuse.
But it would've been nice to get a little something out of it, right? Love and affection can only get you so far, and it isn't particularly good for your engine, either.
So, of course, Tokyomango has to point out this fake taxi meter only now. For only 1,800 yen, I could've used one of these meters that would've ticked away the cost for my friends to use me as their ride. Sure, it doesn't accurately measure distance, but do I really care? I could've finally recouped my expenses!
Maybe I should get one anyways. Never know when it'll come in handy. Do many of you get stuck as the chauffeur to your friends, or am I the only one here? Also, Tim, please don't get one for Anime Expo.
