Ghost in the Shell: Arise has a brand new trailer

The first footage

Tonight, Production I.G finally revealed the first bit of footage from their new four film series, Ghost in the Shell: Arise. Their goal? To show the world the power of 2D animation. Those are big words, but I'm certainly cheering for them.

The trailer looks great, following a young Kusanagi Motoko before she became the badass we all know and love. The action looks great and perhaps better than anything else, it feels like Ghost in the Shell. Most of my concerns about the character design are pretty much gone. I am a bit concerned that the overall quality doesn't quite look movie-level yet, but there's still quite a lot of time before the first film hits BD. I'll keep my fingers crossed until then.

Check out the trailer below and sound off. Are you as excited as I am?
