Girl Who Leapt Through Time trailer photo

Cute, isn't she?

That's the actress Riisa Naka, star of both the 2006 anime film and the upcoming 2010 live-action adaptation of Yasutaka Tsutsui's famous novel The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I can't recall too many seiyuu who have made the jump to live-action acting, but Riisa seems to have taken the transition remarkably well. Don't take my word for it, though... watch the theatrical trailer for the new movie after the break.

In my opinion, this film looks pretty good; not as good as Mamoru Hosoda's animated masterpiece, but still enjoyable. What do you guys think?

As said on my Twitter, this looks awesome. Here's hoping for a west....awww who am I kidding.
I just looked at my DVD collection and saw the live action Death Note movies. Maybe there is a chance... **gives 4digital a ring**
It looks very promising.
I really enjoyed the animated version, which I understand is different from the original story. I also ended up getting the soundtrack since it was so good!

This looks cool too though. I always enjoy a good period piece/time travel thing since so often they are done so poorly.
@njudah: How is the animated version different from the novel. I have a copy of the novel actually. BUt the kanji is making my head spin so I cannot get past the first paragraph... hehehe
I really enjoyed the animated film looking forward to this now that I know about it.
@njudah: I too would also like to know how the novel is different from the animated movie an if so how does the Live-Action Trailer fair when comparing the novel ?

Riisa Naka Live-Action voice dosnt seem to match her counterpart anime character. . .
!!!!!! Yayyyyyy !!!!!!! It looks good, im excited :D
I haven't watch the anime yet TwT
@Yamada: Why not? GO WATCH IT NAOW!

Are you watching it yet?
My hype for the anime makes me excited about the "idea" of the live action movie, but after I watched the trailer I could really care less. Sorry.
I think I'm still waiting for the animated version to make the "leap" to Blu-Ray.
The aunt in the animated movie is the main character from the book. The animated movie is a completly different story, but is based on the same concept.
looks awesome, its something im definitely gonna check out
