From today's New York Times comes word of the imminent demise of Toshiba's HD-DVD format. With Sony, Wal-Mart and Time-Warner all ganging up on the poor sad little company that could, they've finally thrown in the ball and taken their towel and gone packing.
While this comes as no surprise to those of us who know nothing nor care anything about the whole deal, it is sure to cause plenty a flame war across the webiverse. What are we to do with our shiny new HD-DVD players and mountains of Transformers discs? It'll be interesting to see how this effects the current crop of players and discs. It might be a great time to snatch up those dual players and a few discount HD discs. Just think, you could be just like all those cool guys who collect laser-discs!
