This video parodies the visual style of the classic Japanese comic Sazae-san (サザエさん), which ran in the Asahi Shinbum from 1946 to 1974. It also uses the actual opening theme from the Sazae-san animation to make a new Haruhi-themed opening. It's neat to see the cast all squiggly and hand-drawn, but the funny thing is that Haruhi seems somewhat pleasant in the video, which we all know is not normal.
