Those friggin' squares at engadget called the singing voice of the new Yamaha robot "terrifying." But we know that voice. We listen to that voice by choice. And what was odd and off-putting to a bunch of tech geeks is a glimmer of hope to us otaku.
Here's how I see it. They gave her a voice. Now she has a body. That's almost good enough right there. Give her a soft touch and the correct...ports, and we'll be good to go. Mass produce, get it going, Yamaha.

Yeah, a bit too uncanny valley for me. I'm not sure if artificial AI and physical structure technology will ever be good enough to look truly realistic, and not just disturbingly realistic, but as of now, I'm still not a fan of the idea. And this is coming from a guy who found Aigis to be one of his favorite female characters in Persona 3 and thought KOS-MOS was hot.
