You're read the Japanator Review, now you can own the album!

After weeks of two-song teasers, HearJapan.com has just released the full version of 8bit Prophet: TM Network Tribute - Generated by Chiptuine & Vocaloid. The album is a unique blend of idol-in-a-box vocals from Hatsune Miku over pure retro 8bit production. The songs are all covers version of classic TM Network tunes. These words should ring all sorts of bells with our loyal readers. It's like chocolate smothered in chocolate sauce, wrapped in chocolate.

You can get an instant download of the album from HearJapan.com, or you can order the gorgeous CD package from VORC Records. Either option is a win, so do not hesitate! If all of this isn't enough to convince you, hit the jump for a video clip and more details.

HearJapan Delivers the Future of 8-BIT Chiptune With New Release

Tokyo, JP-June 4, 2009-  HearJapan (www.hearjapan.com) is proud to announce the release of 8-BIT PROPHET, a CD of classic songs by J-Pop legends TM NETWORK done entirely in the chiptune syle.

HearJapan teamed up with the world's preeminent chiptune record label VORC Records to deliver this much anticipated compilation.  3 advance releases of 2 songs each have been rolled out over the last few weeks building anticipation for yesterday's full album release.

Chiptune is a style of music defined by its use of relatively simple synth 8-bit synth sounds popularized by early video game music.  This release is unique in that it is the first time in the genre Vocaloid software was utilized to render the female lead vocal in a similar timbre as the accompanying synthesized music.

HearJapan President Nathan Reaven says, "Japan is the birth place of video game culture and, of course, video game music.  It is thrilling to see this well loved composition style is still going strong".  He added, "we are thrilled to be doing our part to keep this style alive."

Individual tracks are priced at 150 yen each (about $1.50 US), full albums are discounted.

HearJapan is the largest and fastest growing place on the web to purchase Japanese music of all genres.  Adding 50 albums + per week, it is a great place to find the hard to find, and explore the unexplored of Japanese music.  It features over 1500 artists profiles all with original translations and 40 second samples of over 10,000 songs.
