Hatsune Miku to appear in Weekly Playboy

Our sweet, innocent Vocaloid queen, appearing in Playboy? It sounds like a racy story, but it's not as naughty as you think. The March 28 issue of Weekly Playboy in Japan will feature the virtual idol, drawn by illustrator "bob." The thing is, the magazine's publisher, Shueisha, just licenses the trademark from Hugh Hefner's American rag; apparently, the content in the Japanese version is much less explicit. So yeah, don't expect the girl to be baring it all.

Miku is sharing the photoshoot with a flesh-and-blood idol, Risa Yoshiki. The Vocaloid girl will, obviously, be added on top of Yoshiki's pictures. Still, even if I doubt you'll be seeing Miku sans clothes, I have to wonder how far Crypton will allow Playboy to go. From an (uncomprehensive) search, the header image was the most explicit thing I could find. Guess it's something to look forward to!

Bob has been hanging around ModernMethod for years and and somehow writes almost everywhere, including Destructoid and Flixist. He was once lit on fire, but it's not as cool as you'd think. more   |   staff directory
