As I'm sure you're all aware of by now, I'm a big fan of fighting games. I wasn't always that way though, as I never had anybody to play them with when I was younger. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger changed all that. I ended up falling in love with the game, and played it online any chance I could get. I've picked up every update since then, though I continued to hope that Aksys would release a full blown sequel.
BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma appears to be that sequel.
My good friend and fellow ex-pat, Digital_Masta, has been playing Chrono Phantasma over in Fukuoka during the recent set of play tests, and has graciously taken offscreen footage of a bunch of matches. According to him, the top level japanese BB players all seem to agree that while CP feels like BlazBlue, it also feels like a brand new game. Color me excited!
I've posted the videos after the break for your viewing pleasure. There's a lot of good watching to be had. Just be sure to turn your speakers down before you watch. Japanese arcades are stupidly loud.
