James Kyson Lee, or Ando as you might remember from Heroes, said during a panel at the Pacific Media Expo in Los Angeles, that he is trying out for a part in the Dragon Ball Z live-action movie. However, Hiro’s pal Ando is not trying out for the part of Goku, but for the part of a sidekick once more, Yamcha. According to James, he is the perfect person for this part because he is a childhood fan of both Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk, and that’s a good thing because you got to keep it in the family (the manga reading family).
Not only did he tell us of his recent audition, but some more information about the up and coming film. He tells us that the film is planned for a 2010 release, and that he approves of the script so far. Now, hopefully James was talking as a Dragon Ball fan when he said that he approves of the script and not just kissing ass for the sake of getting the part. Either way I do approve of James Kyson Lee to play the part of the lady-loving bandit Yamcha, and wish him luck in getting the part.
