Man, being "punk'd" in Japan sucks. I mean, sure, we all know that Japanese TV is quite adept at separating a person from his dignity, but some of those shows are downright cruel, almost pure exercises in schadenfreude.

And it seems that that schadenfreude has been exercised upon poor Yukina Kinoshita, a young idol who appeared in the J-drama Hachi-one Diver.

As you can see in the video from Japan Probe, poor Yukino was sent with the TV crew on a hunt for Japan's most famous yokai creature, the Kappa. After touring the town (which was prepped with fake protection charms and filled with cheesy X-Files music), the party went on a night-time expedition. When a man in a rubber Kappa costume appeared, all the conspirators pretended not to see or hear the creature.
